I am Debbie and a certified life coach through Jay Shetty Certification School. I am also trained in NLP and have worked in the education sector for 20 years. I live in the UK with my husband and son. I specialize in coaching leaders in education to identify and achieve their personal, as well as professional, goals. Coaching has become a buzzword in education in recent years, often in the form that improves practices in the classroom through direct instruction and deliberate practice. However, I offer pure coaching, coaching the person not the 'problem'. Having been a leader in education for a decade, I fully appreciate the impact that can have on the person: busy, torn in many different directions, managing challenging situations (and people!) all while being in the spotlight of others. It's a lot to take on and often with little support. I coach the person, the leader who may be dealing with perfectionism, imposter syndrome or the pressures of accountability.

I first encountered coaching when my school introduced coaching for the leadership team and I know the impact it had on setting goals and achieving outcomes. Having that time, each fortnight, to speak openly and honestly but also setting intentions was invaluable. The time away from the noise, to focus on myself gave me clarity and insights. Then, I took on a life coach when coming to a crossroads in my career. Like many of you, I considered leaving the profession after feeling exhausted and disillusioned. Here, coaching allowed me to reassess and rediscover why I love teaching. Then Covid-19 struck and I took the opportunity came along to become a life coach; the opportunity to be of service to fellow educators and marry my two great love: facilitating personal development and education.
